Taiwan’s military has fired warning shots at a Chinese UAV for the first time after a Chinese unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) continued its flight over the island of Erdan, connected to Taiwan, despite all warnings.

Taiwan has fired a warning shot at a Chinese UAV that violated its airspace for the first time. Taiwan’s Kinmen Defense Command (KDC) detected Chinese civilian UAVs flying over Dadan Island, Erdan Island and Shi Island and warned the UAVs in question by firing flares, the Taiwanese military’s Kinmen Defense Command (KDC) said in a statement.

In the news that the Chinese UAVs went towards the Chinese city of Xiamen after the warning flare, it was stated that another Chinese UAV entered the airspace of Erdan Island at 17.59 local time and was warned in accordance with the procedures.

REAL BULLETS WERE USED IN THE WARNING SHOT

After the UAV continued its flight over the island despite all warnings, a warning shot was fired by the soldiers using real bullets, it was reported that the UAV went in the direction of the Chinese city of Xiamen after the warning shot. The KDC ”will continue to remain vigilant and monitor the situation closely,” it said.

The KDC had issued a warning last Sunday that UAVs violating airspace would be shot down.
