Explaining the price changes between the producer and the market, President of the Union of Chambers of Agriculture of Turkey (TZOB), said: “In November, the price difference between the producer and the market approached 9 fold.

He went on to say, “In the agricultural sector which has shrunk due to drought this year, inadequate fertilizer use may also be seen a big risk on top of drought again.

On the other hand, after the application of the quota on imports of tomato, Russia has also prohibited entry of various agricultural products due to residual and introduced analysis requirement for products such as grape, pepper, plum, pomegranate and pumpkin, at the entrance

He noted that the difference between the manufacturer and market prices has approached 9 fold, as of November. Also, there were price increases in 28 items in markets and 19 products in prices of producers.

While there were no products with no price change in markets, the prices of 4 products of the producers did not change. The item with highest price increase in markets (and producers) was eggplant and the and the item with highest decline was lemon.

In the face of abnormal increase in fertilizer prices, supports should be increased by providing 50 percent of the fertilizer price as incentive (like with diesel support) and additional support should be introduced for mixed feed and plant protection products that are not supported.

The solution against imported inflation and stockpiling in our country is production. We have no choice but to increase production.”
