THY in talks with Airbus to place order of 355 aircraft, largest in its history

THY has reported to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) that it is in talks with Airbus for the largest order in its history, consisting of 355 aircraft. Airbus has also released a statement confirming that a “preliminary agreement has been reached.”

THY announced that discussions had been held with Airbus for the purchase of 355 aircraft to be delivered between 2026 and 2036.

In the statement made to the Public Disclosure Platform by the company, following was shared: “Within the framework of our Strategic Plan covering the years 2023-2033 and in line with the growth targets set by our partnership, negotiations have been ongoing with aircraft and engine manufacturers for some time. In this context, discussions are being held with the Airbus company for the purchase of a total of 355 aircraft, including 240 firm orders and 115 options, to be delivered between 2026-2036. After obtaining the approval of the board of directors regarding the purchase, the necessary notification will be shared with the public.”
