UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak removes Home Secretary Braverman from her position

It is anticipated that Prime Minister Sunak will make a cabinet reshuffle today. The controversy arose following a confrontation between the British Minister and the police.

The tension began when Suella Braverman accused the London police of “taking sides” in allowing demonstrations in support of Palestine after Israel’s attacks. The disagreement gained prominence in the country’s agenda.

Braverman, who described the weekly solidarity marches with Palestine held in London since October 14 as a “hate march,” accused the police of applying a “double standard” when it comes to Palestinian actions.

Braverman was appointed Home Secretary by Liz Truss in September 2022. However, after being forced to resign from her position for sending an official document from her personal email in violation of ministry rules, she was reinstated to her former position by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak just six days later.
