TIME MAGAZINE ARTICLE ABOUT TURKEY

TIME magazine has included Turkey in its list of the 10 biggest global risks of 2022. The author of the article published in Time said, “Erdogan will take Turkey’s economy and international reputation to even lower levels in 2022.”

Ian Bremmer, foreign policy writer and managing editor of the US-based TIME magazine, listed the 10 biggest global risks of 2022. Bremmer ranked Turkey 10th on the global risk list.

The author wrote, “In order to reverse the decline in the polls ahead of 2023 elections, President Erdogan will take Turkey’s economy and international reputation to even lower levels in 2022.”

Bremmer also wrote: “Unemployment and inflation are high, the Turkish LIRA is weaker and more volatile, but Erdogan has rejected the usual (orthodox) economic management. The foreign policy will also become even more belligerent this year in order to divert the attention of voters from the economic crisis. In the unlikely scenario of a 2022 snap election, all these risks will be borne.”

According to TIME, the 10 biggest global risks of 2022 are as follows:

1- China’s Covid-19 strategy
2- A multipolar world in terms of technology
3- Elections in the USA
4- China’s domestic policy
5- Russia
6- Iran
7- Taking a step back and forth for the environment
8- Crises that are not ruled due to lack of power
9- Companies that lose the culture war
10- Turkey
