Tour operator official says there is a great demand for Turkey this summer Sören Hartmann, CEO of DER Touristik, one of the important tour operators for Turkish tourism, and his managers met with tourism professionals in Antalya with the participation of Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Minister of Culture and Tourism. The CEO spoke at the meeting held at the Akra Hotel and made important statements that raised encouraged the sector. "The Ukrainian crisis could have had a very bad effect, but it didn't happen " The CEO made statements about the reservations, as well. Stating that they had experienced a 70 percent loss in 2020 with the pandemic, he said, “We improved a little in 2021 and reached 40 percent of our capacity. We have reached 80 percent of our capacity in Turkey. There is a tremendous demand for Turkey for 2022. We can reach the 2019 level in 2022. If we compare it with its competitors, Turkey is very successful. Turkey’s price is also rising. Prices have increased by 12 percent. People want to vacation in better places now. There was an improvement after the pandemic. This time we are also facing the Ukrainian crisis. The Ukrainian crisis could have had a very bad effect, but this did not happen." He also shared following: “In general, there was a huge increase in bookings after the pandemic, and even the Ukrainian crisis could not affect this. We're going to have a really good year. Bookings are increasing, and this makes us happy. Turkey will also be one of the winning countries this year. Eastern Europe, Western Europe and the UK are showing great interest in Turkey.
