Minister says facilities without covid-19 will be given certificate when season opens end May

Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy has said a certificate study has been initiated for tourism facilities where coronavirus has not been spotted. He said these facilities would be provided with certificate after taking necessary precautions. The Minister also said they would consult with tour operators in regards.

Mr. Ersoy went on to say, “I think travelers from Asian countries will come in the first place when the outbreak is over”. The Minister who gave a short interview on a TV channel said they predicted normalization would be possible towards end of May adding movement in domestic tourism would also start.

Mr. Ersoy also made a statement about Galataport project continuing in Istanbul and shared following:

Galataport is one of the very important projects for Turkish tourism. The docking of ships may have been delayed due to the virus, but Galataport will be in service this year. On the other hand we will turn Galata neighborhood into a museum and make it a center of attraction as well. (szc)
