Tourism paradise Kemer, a prominent holiday resort in Antalya is on fire

A forest fire that broke out in the evening in Kemer, the tourist district of Antalya, grew rapidly. While a large number of teams participated in extinguishing operations, Kemer State Hospital and surrounding settlements were evacuated as a precaution. 6 People affected by the smoke were treated in hospital.

Teams began to respond to the fire which continued throughout the night from the air as well, with the first light of the morning.

A fire broke out at 21.00 in the forest on the side of the Kemer-Antalya highway in the Değirmendere neighborhood of Kemer, Antalya. Due to the strong wind, the flames spread rapidly. Crews were directed to the area to extinguish the fire near settlements and the highway. Reinforcement fire crews were also directed to the region from Antalya and Kumluca.

TEAMS QICKLY RESPONDED TO FIGHT THE FIRE

The teams that quickly reached the scene began to fight the fire. The surrounding settlements threatened by the flames were also evacuated as a precaution. Citizens also supported the extinguishing efforts.

During the night, more than 50 vehicles, numerous water tankers and more than 300 firefighting teams responded to the fire that broke out in an area where there are dense trees in the forest.

HOSPITAL AND 10 RESIDENCES WERE EVACUATED

6 People affected by the smoke were taken to the hospital for treatment. For precautionary purposes, 10 residences near the fire zone were evacuated, and 12 of the 14 patients at Kemer State Hospital were discharged and sent home, and 2 patients were transferred to different hospitals.
