Stefan Baumert, CEO of TUI Germany, announced that Antalya ranks second among the most demanded destinations during the early booking period, and they aim to send more than a million tourists to Turkey in 2024.

Stefan Baumert, CEO of TUI Germany, stated, “We are on the threshold of the most popular booking time. We expect a significant increase in reservations for the coming summer at the end of December and the beginning of January.”

Baumert revealed that the current early booking numbers for the summer are a quarter higher than last year, stating, “Mallorca had an excellent start. Currently, it is leading the list of favorite destinations in the medium-haul route, followed by Antalya.”

Aiming to bring more than a million tourists to Turkey

Baumert expressed TUI’s anticipation of high growth in Turkey compared to the previous summer and said that the company has regained its leading position. He mentioned that TUI aims to exceed the one-million visitor mark from Germany to Turkey in 2024. In line with this goal, TUI will increase flight capacities from Hannover to Antalya, including TUI Fly.

“Greece is heading towards an all-time high”

Baumert also noted significant demand for Greece, stating, “Greece is heading towards an all-time high. Currently, especially Crete, Rhodes, and Kos are experiencing unprecedented demand, ranking third, fourth, and fifth, right after Mallorca and Antalya.”

Increased demand for long-haul destinations

Stefan Baumert mentioned a return in demand for long-haul destinations parallel to strong medium-haul routes. As in the pre-COVID-19 era, the most sought-after destination by far is the United States, followed by the Maldives, Thailand, Canada, and Mauritius.
