Turkey: An excise duty increase of 22.29 percent on alcohol and cigarettes

With the announcement of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) Domestic Producer Price Index (YI PPI) data for December, the automatic increase rates in the excise duty and minimum excise duty amounts charged on alcohol and tobacco products were also announced.

According to the news quoted by Ekonomim newspaper, D-PPI increased by 22.29 percent in the second half of last year.

Accordingly, the amount of excise duty and the minimum excise duty on alcohol and tobacco products will also be increased at this rate.
