Turkey becomes the 5th most traveled country by Brits

While trips from the UK to Mediterranean destinations increased, Turkey became the fifth most traveled country. According to data released by the UK Civil Aviation Authority, air travel from the UK to the Mediterranean increased by 47 percent in the first four months of 2023.

According to the Tourism Databank, Spain took the first place with a 37 percent share despite the decline in foreign trips from the UK to Mediterranean countries. It was followed by Italy with 12 percent, France with 10 percent share, Portugal with 7.5 percent share and Turkey with 6.1 percent share.

Spain and France showed an improvement of more than 60 percent, while Portugal showed an improvement of 37 percent and Turkey showed an improvement of 41 percent.

On the other hand, Morocco, Greece and Egypt also recorded improvements, while Morocco broke a record with an increase of 181 percent. All three of these countries took a 2.5 percent share of the UK Sunday.
