Turkey exports $ 23.4 billion worth of goods and imports $ 31.6 billion in June

TURKISH EXPORTS INCREASE

Trade Minister Mehmet Muş said exports had totaled to $ 23.4 billion and imports totaled to $ 31.6 billion, in June. Accordingly, exports increased by 18.5 percent in said month, while imports increased by 39.6 percent.

Muş announced the foreign trade figures for June at the opening of the East Anatolian Exporters’ Association (DAIB) in Erzurum.

According to the General Trade System (GTS), Turkey’s exports increased by 18.5 percent in June compared to the same month last year to $ 23 billion 395 million, and imports increased by 39.6 percent to $ 31 billion 555 million.

Muş made a statement saying, ”The highest monthly export figure of all time has been reached. Our exports in June, which we left behind, were 23.4 billion dollars, showing an 18.5 percent increase compared to the same month last year. I would like to note with pleasure that this figure is the highest monthly export figure of all time. Thus, in the first 6 months of 2022, we reached the highest monthly export value and made it 6 out of 6. In the first 6 months of the year, our country exported a total of $ 126 billion.”

The Minister also said, $ 31.6 billion worth of imports were made, including $ 8.1 billion from energy items, adding “Imports for June amounted to $ 31.6 billion. The energy item also took an important place in our imports this month with a share of 8.1 billion dollars.”
