Turkey: Industrial production index breaking record since last October

Turkish Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan said on Monday that industrial production index had been breaking record since last October.

Industrial production index increased 3.8 percent in August 2011 when compared to August 2010, Turkish Statistical Authority said.

Replying to a question on industrial production, Caglayan said that figures that made public today were positive.

Caglayan said that they were glad that boost in employment, growth and exports was continuing.

“Fluctuations can occur in these figures from time to time and it is normal,” he said.

Caglayan said that continuation of rise in growth and industrial production was of great importance to reach the goals set for 2023.
