Turkey’s e-commerce volume exceeds 800 billion liras in 2022

Turkey’s electronic commerce (e-commerce) volume last year reached 800.7 billion liras with a 109 percent increase compared to the previous year. According to the information obtained from the Ministry of Commerce’s “Electronic Commerce Information System (ETBIS)” 2022 data, there are 548 thousand 688 enterprises engaged in e-commerce activities in Turkey.

While 31 thousand 320 of these enterprises are operating as registered in ETBIS, 533 thousand 19 enterprises are operating in e-commerce market places. In addition, the number of sites registered with ETBIS has also reached 37 thousand 256. 15 thousand 651 businesses are selling in e-commerce markets in addition to conducting e- activities on their own website.

As of 2022, the e-commerce volume in Turkey has increased by 109 percent compared to the previous year and reached 800.7 billion liras. During the same period, the number of orders increased by 43 percent from 3 billion 347 million to 4 billion 787 million. During this period, the retail e-commerce volume was realized as 458 billion liras.
