Foreign Ministry advises Turkish citizens not to travel to China unless mandatory

In a statement issued by the ministry it was mentioned that the new coronavirus (2019-nCoV), which caused pneumonia in the city of Vuhan in China’s Hubey province, had reached a size to threaten public health nationwide.

The statement also said the number of cases linked to the Coronavirus outbreak showed tendency to increase adding Turkish citizens should not travel to China unless mandatory and even if they did, they should keep away from regions with intense cases in regards, such as Hubey province.

The ministry also emphasized in the same statement Turkish citizens living in China or having to travel to other parts of China should comply with the maximum health measures.

The citizens were asked to closely monitor statements and warnings of Turkey’s embassy in Beijing, and consulates in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Guangzhou in China as well as the World Health Organization (who).

In the same statement, it was noted that citizens could reach call center of the embassy at +90 312 292 29 29 and Beijing embassy at +86 152 01 30 94 12
