FLIGHTS FROM RUSSIA TO TURKEY

It seems that one of the main problems in tourism this summer will have to with air transportation. Guests from the region of Russia and Ukraine always come by charter flights. The companies that make these flights also bring them on chartered planes from Boeing and Airbus. Boeing and Airbus have also recalled their planes. These aircraft are due to be delivered by the end of March. And from the moment it is delivered, there are no planes that can make these flights.

It is necessary to look at the incident not because tourists cannot come from Russia and Ukraine, but because there will actually be no flights from the region. That seems to be the main problem now. It is reported that the Minister of Transport and the Minister of Tourism are trying to solve this problem.

Turkey may incur great loss in tourism revenues this season

“Pegasus and Turkish Airlines can take some of said tourists, but it is not possible for them to make such scheduled flights. Domestic companies are talking about replacing charter flights. 4-5 large operators make these flights. They bring passengers from Poland, Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine. They also brought tourists from both Eastern Europe and the Russian region.

Does the sector have an alternative?

As an alternative, the sector may need to evaluate the Arab, Israeli and European markets. If alternative markets cannot make up for the deficit in Russia and Ukraine markets, the loss in tourism may reach 50 percent. It is also reported that the sector does not have the luxury to choose nationality of incoming tourists. Anyone who comes to Turkey will be most welcome. This goes for the facilities in Antalya and for Istanbul, as well.
