The government had announced a short while that the Sacrifice Holiday which should normally be a few days was extended to 10 days with the goal to revive the tourism sector obviously as well as a treat to citizens. This measure caused an extraordinary increase in the car rental market as reported by professionals in the industry.

In fact experts report that the demand for car rentals in the sector has substantially increased this year compared to previous years and this has been more so especially in summer and on weekends with occupancy rates above 90 per cent. To parallel this, experts forecast occupancy rates in The coming Eid al-Adha period are to surpass these figures as well. Therefore, those who would like to use this service during the holiday period are asked to make reservations well in advance.

It is reported that there are over 11 million cars available for rent in Turkey and 2 million 500 thousand of these are used by companies on long term lease for business purposes. The remaining 13 percent is available for short term rentals and this ratio is about 40 percent in developed countries meaning Turkey has still a long way to go with a big potential.
