Turkish Companies Open Their Wallets For Laborers in Risky Countries

Turkish firms that do not want their company operations to be disrupted by the chaos which has engulfed a number of nations including Egypt, Tunisia, Syria and Libya have decided to dig deep down into their pockets. Companies that are placing help wanted ads that include the terms ‘safety zone’ and ‘good salary’ are willing to part with 4,000 dollars for every hire.

While Japan is in search of crazy workers willing to work under the risk of nuclear radiation contamination, a similar situation in a sense is being experienced in Turkey. Turkish entrepreneurs are ready to open up their wallets for workers willing to go to Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Bahrain or Syria, which is rife in civil war. Considered to be the most risky country, an exterior construction master is being offered between three to four thousand dollars monthly to work in Libya. For the same work in Egypt, monthly salaries of 2,500 dollars are now on offer.

Advertisements placed on the internet are emphasizing bath safety and payment. Help wanted ads for positions in countries such as Egypt, Tunisia, Syria and Libya tend to contain the terms ‘safety zone’ and ‘good salary’. Amongst the companies looking to hire employees are İma Mühendislik, Mimsa, Gurbah Mühendislik, NVS Grup, Cafer Sadık Abalıoğlu and Mas İnşaat amongst those that stand out. The firms which are seeking out employees are basically willing to break even or at a loss in order to continue their investments in the region.

CONSTRUCTION TECHNICIANS ARE IN DEMAND

Positions that are most in demand by companies are construction technicians, construction supervisors, molders, exterior construction masters, project engineers and cooks. Meanwhile, firms are also seeking out a number of ways to ensure they do not suffer from employee losses. Understanding the value of employees, company administrators have been holding one on one meetings with their staff in order to convince them with videos and maps that where they are working is located in a safety zone.
Mustafa Ünlü, a master in exterior construction, is headed to Egypt next week. Ünlü, who is going to Egypt to work for an Ankara-based construction company states, “The firm’s administrators stated that the constriction sight was in a safety zone. We agreed on a monthly salary of 2,500 dollars. Last year, I went to the same country for just 1,250 dollars.”
