Turkish medical professor says situation in Bodrum is frightening, even catastrophic

Hürriyet columnist Prof. Dr. Osman MUFTUOGLU wrote in his article today about his observations and evaluations in the field of social distance rules and mask use in Bodrum. He said “The situation is frightening, even catastrophic.”

The professor wrote, “The situation is frightening and even in catastrophic dimensions. There are even those who act worse, who take it to the point of disrespect.”

Osman Müftüoğlu shared the following lines in his article:

“My clear conclusion based on my mask inspection is that the situation is frightening. Even catastrophic. Everyone has a reason, a reason, an excuse not to wear a mask. Some are bored, overwhelmed, some don’t believe it works, others complain about the extreme heat and don’t wear their masks. There are even those who take it further, to the point of disrespect. For example, when we ask a waiter who carries his mask around his neck why he does not wear a mask in a restaurant we go to for dinner in Bodrum, he responds to us sitting at the table without hesitation, “Why don’t you wear it?” (TG)
