ERDOGAN PLAN ABOUT RUSSIA UKRAINE

Bloomberg, one of the leading US media outlets, recently published a news story about the tension between Ukraine and Russia. Speaking to Bloomberg, Turkish officials shared the plans and wishes of Ankara and Erdogan, as well. The US-based media outlet Bloomberg, while publishing a news story about the tension on the Kiev-Moscow line, assessed the position of Turkey, which has developed good relations with both sides.

Speaking to Bloomberg, senior Turkish officials said that in a scenario such as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Turkey did not want to face Russia, despite the fact that it sells “SIHA“s (Armed Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) to the Kiev administration. The official, who did not disclose his name, said that Turkey was not taking coordinated steps with Ukraine and Washington and was taking an independent stance for its own interests.

The official said that this unwillingness of Turkey, which had the largest NATO army after the United States, to oppose Russia was in line with President Erdogan’s maneuvers in foreign policy. The official added “Erdogan wants to protect Turkey’s interests from Libya to Syria and the Caucasus because Moscow is on the opposite side in these regions.”

WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE AREA?

This year, tensions have escalated on the Ukraine-Russia line, where tensions have been at a high level for years. US intelligence has announced that there is a possibility that Russia will invade Ukraine next year with 175 thousand troops. But Russia has denied these allegations. Russia had announced that Ukraine’s joining NATO was a red line and demanded that the United States and EU countries withdraw their support for Ukraine.
