Turkish Statistics Institute announces inflation figures for February 2021

Turkey's inflation for February 2021

According to statistical data announced by TurkStat, inflation in Turkey increased by 0.91 percent in February 2021, while it was 15.61 percent year-on-year.

Based on same data shared by TUIK, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 0.91 percent month-on-month in February and the domestic Producer Price Index (Yi-PPI) increased by 1.22 percent. Annual inflation was 15.61 percent in consumer prices and 27.09 percent in domestic producer prices.

Consumer Price Index increased by 0.91 percent in February compared to the previous month and by 15.61 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. On twelve-month averages it increased by 12.81 percent.

The lowest annual increase was in the alcoholic beverages and tobacco group with2.87 percent.

Other main groups with low growth compared to the same month of the previous year were education with 6.13 percent, clothing and footwear with 6.31 percent and communication with 7.15 percent, respectively. In contrast, the main groups with a high increase compared to the same month of the previous year were household goods with 23.74 percent, transport with 22.47 percent and various goods and services with 20.61 percent, respectively.

The group with the highest monthly decline was various goods and services at 2.32 per cent
