Grant Shapps has announced that Turkey has been removed from the list of safe countries for Covid-19. Accordingly, those who travel to the UK via Turkey will have to remain in quarantine for 14 days from their entry into the country. Quarantine practice will start on Saturday, October 3 from 4:00 am UK time, according to the announcement shared by the Transport Minister via his social media account. Poland is also among the countries removed from the list of safe countries.

Upon entry, people travelling to the UK are expected to immediately go to the address where they will stay and isolate themselves for 14 days without ever leaving the house on any grounds, including shopping or exercise.

The quarantine application covers those who travel directly from Turkey, as well as transit passengers. Passengers arriving in the United Kingdom, i.e. England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland, must submit details of their travel, contact details and the address where they will stay to the border police.

A £ 1,000 fine is being imposed on people found not to be in quarantine in the UK.
