JAPAN TO SEND GAS TO EUROPE

The United States and the EU are continuing their search for an alternative to Russian gas. Japan, which imports the most natural gas in the world, will send gas to Europe despite the crisis in gas reserves in its country.

A new one has been added to the US attempts to reduce Russia’s gas dominance in Europe since the Ukraine crisis. The government of Japan has decided to send part of its liquefied natural gas (LNG) reserves to European countries at the request of the United States and the European Union (EU). Japanese Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Koichi Hagiuda said after today’s meeting with US Ambassador to Tokyo Rahm Emanuel that the decision had been made at the request of the United States and the EU.
