US House of Representatives Speaker Pelosi condemns Azerbaijan, in Armenia

Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi strongly condemned Azerbaijan during her visit to Armenia. She blamed Azerbaijan for last week’s clash. More than 200 people had lost their lives in the clashes between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Both sides blamed each other for the start of the clashes.

According to BBC Turkish news, Pelosi, who went to Armenia with a delegation from the US House of Representatives, noted that this visit had a special significance. Speaking in the capital Yerevan, Pelosi said, ”We strongly condemn the clashes. The clashes were initiated by Azerbaijan and this should be recognized as such.”

Pelosi said that the United States listened to Armenia’s defense needs and stated that they wanted to support and help Armenia in the ‘global struggle between democracy and autocracy’.
