TURSAB President BAGLIKAYA stated that the 2022 tourism season had passed beyond expectations for Turkey. He said that European, Middle Eastern and British tourists had closed the gap between Russian and Ukrainian tourists, adding “Those who cannot get a visa to Europe are turning their route to Turkey.”

BAGLIKAYA, head of the Association of Travel Agencies of Turkey (TURSAB), said that the tourism sector, which had not entered the season with high expectations due to the concern of the Russian – Ukrainian war, had spent the year well above the targets.

Emphasizing that Europe, the Middle East and the UK had closed the gap caused by lack of Russians and Ukrainians, he said “Those who have visa problems in Europe have turned to Turkey. This advantage of ours will increase even more.”

He also stated that with the early booking opportunity to be opened in the coming days, domestic tourists could buy a holiday package with discounted rates of over 50 percent.
