It was learned that consensus had not been reached for the Istanbul Convention in the government program of the six-party table, planned to be announced to the public on December 26.

The Institutional Reforms Commission the Six-party Table (opposition bloc) have come to an end regarding preparations for the government program (to be applied in case opposition wins election).

After the completion of the program, which the six party staffs have been working on for a long time, negotiations on a joint candidate will begin. It was learned that the six parties, which had reached consensus on a large number of issues, had not yet reached consensus on the Istanbul Convention at this stage.

FELICITY PARTY LEADER TO SHARE HIS RESERVATION ON THE ISSUE

CHP Leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, in a statement to representative journalists in Ankara, informed that the Six-Table government program preparation had come to an end and the issues not agreed upon would be written in “red letters” and referred to the Presidents (leaders of 6 parties). According to the information obtained by BIRGÜN, the Istanbul Convention was top of the list among these issues. It was noted that the CHP and the GOOD Party wanted “the goal of re-establishing the convention”, an important policy document in the prevention of violence against women, to be included in the government program. However, in response, it was learned that the Felicity Party staff, in particular, commented on this article. It was reported that Felicity Party Chairman Temel Karamollaoğlu would convey his “reservations” to the leaders on this issue. It is expected that the final decision on this issue will be made at the meeting of the leaders of the Six Tables, which will be hosted by the Future Party.
