Visa Requirement Between Russia & Turkey Lifted

Under an agreement between Russia and Turkey, Russia has become a visa-free travel zone for Turkish citizens as of last Saturday. Russia is the 58th country that does not require visa for Turkish visitors. The agreement between Turkey and Russia applies to trips not longer than 30 days within any given period of 90 days.

 With the removal of visa requirements the foreign trade between two countries is expected to boost from $26.2 billions to $40 billion within year.

 The number of Russian tourists visiting Turkey is expected to increase from 3 to 4 million while Turkish tourists visiting Russia is expected to increase from 300000 to 500000.

 Russia is not only the second biggest trade partner of Turkey but also the country that Turks make the highest investment in.

 Turkey ranks fifth among countries Russia exports to, but only 11th among countries it imports from.

 Russia still applies visa requirements to the citizens of United States and European countries.
