Warning from Meteorology for Aegean and Marmara regions: Strong precipitation is coming

The General Directorate of Meteorology issued a warning of heavy rainfall in the Coastal Aegean, a strong storm in the west of the Marmara and Western Black Seas, and a southwest wind storm for the Western regions. The adverse weather conditions will be effective from Saturday and it is expected to end on Monday.

Meteorology has warned for some regions: Strong precipitation is coming

The General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) has shared its latest forecasts for the weather as follows:

11-12 December: strong precipitation in coastal Aegean
10-12 December: strong storm in Marmara and the Western Black Sea
10-11 December: southwest wind storm in Western parts

FLOOD WARNING TO CITIZENS IN COASTAL AEGEAN

MGM, which warned citizens about the expected precipitation in the Coastal Aegean, said, “From the morning hours of Sunday, the expected showers and thunderstorms in the Coastal Aegean are expected to be locally strong, very strong in the coastal districts of Izmir and Aydın, very strong and severe in the Western coastal districts of Muğla and Balıkesir.”

With the heavy rains expected to lose their effect on Monday morning, citizens were warned to be careful and cautious about issues such as flooding, lightning, strong wind and storm, tornado risk, hail in coastal areas, disruptions in transportation.

MGM, which also warned the public about a strong storm expected in the west of the Marmara and Western Black Sea, said: “The coastal areas of Istanbul and Thrace facing the Black Sea are expected to see the wind blowing from the south and southwest after the evening hours today in the form of a storm of 6 to 8 strength, a strong storm of 9 strength in places. It is expected that the storm will lose its effect in the first hours of the day on Monday.”
