Weather in Turkey: 3-day break from scorching heat

HOT WEATHER IN TURKEY

The chief expert of the Turkish General Directorate of Meteorology, announced that temperatures nationwide would gradually decrease until Wednesday. Starting from Wednesday, the intense heat will return once again. The scorching temperatures that have affected Turkey will begin to diminish from the beginning of the week.

The Chief Meteorologist of the Turkish General Directorate of Meteorology, stated that they expected temperatures in Turkey to gradually decrease based on the latest forecasts and assessments.

He noted that the effect of the scorching heat would start to decrease this week. He said, “With rainfall, a gradual decrease in temperatures will occur in western regions on Sunday, in inland areas on Monday, and in eastern regions on Tuesday. From Wednesday onwards, there will be a slight increase in temperatures, especially in northern and inland regions, but it will not reach the extreme values as in the past weeks. Nevertheless, hot days will return from Wednesday.”

He also mentioned that rainfall was expected on Sunday in the Aegean coast and the inner and eastern parts of the Mediterranean. He added, “On Monday, we expect showers and thunderstorms in the Mediterranean Region, the coastal areas of the Eastern Black Sea, as well as in Afyonkarahisar, Niğde, Kayseri, Sivas, and Malatya. On Tuesday, the rainfall is expected to move towards the eastern regions, affecting the Eastern Mediterranean, Eastern Black Sea, Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia regions, as well as the Sivas area. We can say that the rainy weather will leave our country as of Wednesday.”

WEATHER FORECAST FOR 3 MAJOR CITIES

He stated that temperatures in Istanbul would be around 31-33 degrees Celsius until Wednesday, and in Izmir, temperatures will range between 32-33 degrees Celsius. He also mentioned that temperatures would rise a few degrees above normal from the middle of the week.

He added  following as well: “In Ankara, temperatures that are around 33-34 degrees Celsius until the middle of the week will reach 36-37 degrees Celsius starting from Wednesday. Therefore, temperatures will start to rise again from Wednesday. There won’t be extreme temperatures like in the past days, but the scorching heat will still be present.”
