Weather in Turkey: Breaking News – “Rainfall Warning from Istanbul Governorship”

The Istanbul Governorship, sharing data from the General Directorate of Meteorology, announced that heavy rainfall would be effective starting from tonight. The Governorship warned to be cautious and take precautions against adverse events such as flash floods, waterlogging, and disruptions in transportation.

The ongoing cold wave across Turkey continues to have a negative impact on daily life. According to the latest information, rainfall and storms are expected in the Marmara and Aegean regions.

RAINFALL WARNING

The Istanbul Governorship issued a rainfall warning starting from tonight. In the statement made by the Governorship, it was stated, “According to the latest evaluations, starting from tonight on the European side of Istanbul and continuing into the morning of Wednesday, November 29, 2023, locally intense rainfall and thunderstorms are expected throughout Istanbul province. Be cautious and take precautions against adverse events such as flash floods, waterlogging, lightning, local hail, sudden strong winds, and short-term storms that may affect transportation.”

METEOROLOGY PUBLISHED THE WEEKLY FORECAST REPORT

According to the weekly report of the Meteorology, a cold wave is coming from the west. Rainfall is expected in the Aegean, Central Anatolia, Marmara, and the Black Sea regions on Wednesday and Thursday. From Friday onwards, temperatures will rise nationwide.

YELLOW CODE WARNING FOR 23 PROVINCES

A yellow-coded thunderstorm and rainfall warning was issued for Aydın and Muğla. Bilecik, Bolu, Bursa, Çanakkale, Edirne, Istanbul, Kastamonu, Kırklareli, Kocaeli, Kütahya, Sakarya, Sinop, Tekirdağ, Zonguldak, Bartın, Yalova, Düzce, and Karabük received a yellow-coded wind warning. Additionally, Balıkesir, İzmir, and Manisa were warned about thunderstorms, rainfall, and wind with a yellow code.”
