Borsa Istanbul was closed to transactions after the Kahramanmaraş earthquake. Following the regulations made, the capital market authorities have implemented new regulations for BIST, which will start operations again tomorrow (February 15, 2023). It is stated that with the arrangements made, there will be an inflow of more than 10 billion liras to Borsa Istanbul in the short term and recovery will take place with other structuring.

Borsa Istanbul was closed for trading around 11:00 on February 8, 2023 after the earthquake disaster in Kahramanmaraş. All transactions on February 8, the day BIST was closed for trading, were canceled, BIST fell by 8.62 percent to 4505 points, which was the closing date of February 7, 2023.

February Dec February 8th to February 15th, 2023, Borsa Istanbul remained closed between February 8 and 15. It is expected that the transactions will start at BIST as of tomorrow morning. Experts note that the new regulations and measures introduced for Borsa Istanbul will be effective and high money inflows will occur in the short term.
