Which investment instrument performed the best this (last) week?

Stocks traded on Borsa Istanbul recorded an average increase of 0.34 percent on a weekly basis, while the price of gold per gram increased by 3.84 percent, the USD/TRY by 1.17 percent, and the EUR/TRY by 1.23 percent. The stock that saw the highest increase this week was İzmir Demir Çelik, with a 15.26 percent rise.

The BIST 100 index on Borsa Istanbul closed the week with a 0.34 percent gain, reaching 9142 points. During the week, the index ranged from a low of 8749 to a high of 9336 points.

During the same period, the Borsa Istanbul Services Index experienced a 1.01 percent loss, closing at 8359 points, the Technology Index decreased by 2.92 percent to 13864 points, the Financial Index gained 0.61 percent to 9876 points, and the Industry Index decreased by 0.06 percent to 13946 points.

İzmir Demir Çelik was the stock with the highest increase

Among the stocks included in the BIST 100 index on Borsa Istanbul, İzmir Demir Çelik saw the highest increase this week with 15.26 percent. Following İzmir Demir Çelik were Zorlu Enerji with 12.90 percent and Çan2 Termik with 10.65 percent.

The most valuable companies with shares traded on Borsa Istanbul were Koç Holding with 505 billion 150 million Turkish liras, Turkish Airlines with 410 billion 895 million Turkish liras, and Ford Otomotiv with 397 billion 230 million Turkish liras.

Gold and the dollar rose

The price of 24-carat gold per gram increased by 3.84 percent last week to 2,327 Turkish liras, and the price of Republic gold rose by 8.92 percent to 16,402 Turkish liras.

The selling price of the dollar increased by 1.17 percent to 32.3860 Turkish liras, and the selling price of the euro also rose by 1.23 percent to 35.0580 Turkish liras.

The selling price of the British pound, which was 40.4670 Turkish liras last week, increased by 1.67 percent to 41.1430 Turkish liras this week.

Funds incurred losses

This week, investment funds lost an average of 0.29 percent, and BES funds lost an average of 0.26 percent in value.

Among investment funds, “Money Market Funds” showed the highest increase with 0.93 percent, while “Equity Funds” recorded the highest decline with 1.52 percent.

In BES funds, the highest increase was observed in “Money Market” with 0.99 percent, and the highest decline was seen in “Life Cycle/Target Fund” with 1.76 percent.
