2023 Election polls in Turkey: Vote share of Erdogan and Kılıçdaroğlu in presidential run

After the announcement of CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu as the candidate of Nation’s Alliance in the 2023 presidential elections, the first election polls results began to come. In the first polls, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu seems to be ahead of the candidate of the People’s Alliance, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The first poll results for the May 14 presidential elections have started to be published. According to AKSOY‘s poll conducted on March 8, Nation’s Alliance candidate Kılıçdaroğlu received 55.6 percent of the vote. The vote of Erdogan, the candidate of the People’s Alliance, was 44.4 percent.

According to the results announced by PIAR on March 10, Kılıçdaroğlu received 57.1 percent of the vote, while Erdogan remained at 42.9 percent. PIAR’s survey was conducted via computer aided telephone interview (CATI) with the participation of one thousand 460 people in 12 provinces.

During the crisis experienced during the Six-Table negotiations when IYI Party leader Meral Akşener left the table for a very short while, the first survey had come from the ORC. According to this, the poll showed 56.8 percent of the vote for Kemal Kilicdaroglu, while Recep Tayyip Erdogan received 43.2 percent of the vote. The survey was conducted through CATI with one thousand 850 people in 28 provinces.

After the official announcement of CHP leader’s candidacy, the first survey was conducted by ALFA Research (ALF). The difference in ALF’s poll is 10.2 points. In the poll, the Nation Alliance candidate Kılıçdaroğlu received 55.1 percent of the vote, while the People’s Alliance candidate Erdogan remained at 44.9 percent. ALF’s survey was conducted on March 6-7 with the participation of one thousand 770 people in 26 provinces using the CATI method.
