Announcement from President Erdoğan: Concrete steps will be taken against exorbitant prices

President Erdoğan, after a visit to Iraq, answered questions from journalists on the plane upon his return to the country. In his remarks, Erdoğan said, “In a short time, our fight against these exorbitant prices that also contribute to inflation will definitely be carried out with concrete steps.”

Concrete steps will be taken in a short time

Our main priority here is the welfare of our citizens above all. In the fight against exorbitant prices, we can put forward new and more deterrent measures. Unless the excessive greed for profit is curbed, no matter how much salary increase you implement, the problem will persist. Especially in essential items like food, we cannot allow this.

The relevant ministries are currently working on necessary measures. In a short time, our fight against these exorbitant prices that also contribute to inflation will definitely be carried out with concrete steps. The issue of writing prices on packaging can also be considered. We cannot compromise here; we will pursue this relentlessly. We will never allow our people to be crushed under the burden of exorbitant prices. Whoever does this will pay the price dearly.
