Rıza Perçin, the Chairman of the Mediterranean Regional Representation Board of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB), stated that they expect over 16.5 million tourists to visit Antalya this year, saying, “Hopefully, 2024 will be a record year.”

Perçin mentioned that reservations for 2024 are going well, expressing optimism for the season with numbers coming from the UK, Poland, and other European cities.

Expressing hope for no wars, pandemics, or political problems, Perçin said, “Hopefully, we will complete this year with a figure exceeding 16.5 million. I believe in it. Hopefully, 2024 will be a record year.”

“WE LOST THE UKRANIAN MARKET THIS YEAR AND REPLACED IT WITH POLAND”

Perçin noted that they lost the Ukrainian market this year and replaced it with Poland, which has a similar number of tourists sent.

He mentioned that reservations from the UK market are going very well, adding, “The German market is also very good. We are currently approaching the figures we previously set records with Germany. The Russian market is going routinely due to political reasons. There are economic difficulties there. When we reach May, we believe that the Russian market will peak again and even surpass last year’s figures. Hopefully, everything will be fine. We believe it will be a good season.”

“ALL-INCLUSIVE SYSTEM BEST APPLIED IN ANTALYA”

Regarding the recent debate on the “all-inclusive” system, Rıza Perçin also commented.

Perçin explained that the “all-inclusive” system is best applied in Antalya and emphasized that this system could not be changed suddenly.

He said, “Just as a football team has a culture and a system that cannot be changed suddenly, we cannot change the ‘all-inclusive’ system in Antalya all at once. If we say that nearly 17 million tourists will come, we are sure that 70-80% of them come to our system. We are the best at this. So, I don’t believe it will change in the short term. It shouldn’t change anyway. There shouldn’t be such a reform. But could it be tried in the long term? It could be tried.”

Antalya broke all-time records last year by hosting 15,689,258 foreign tourists.
