In Russia, 679 more people have died in the last 24 hours due to the corona virus. This is said to be a record. In Russia where flights to Turkey resumed on June 22, the rise in fatalities due to Delta variant draws attention.

23,218 new cases were recorded in Russia, in the last 24 hours. 6,893 of the cases were in the capital Moscow. The death toll was announced as 112.

In St. Petersburg, there were 1,671 new cases and 101 deaths.

Moscow Deputy Mayor Anastasiya Rakova said “hospital capacities have come to the point of being insufficient because of the rise in the capital. We will do everything not to declare a shutdown.”
