Basilica Cistern in Istanbul

The 1500-year-old Basilica Cistern, one of the symbols of Istanbul, built by the Byzantine Empire, will meet with Istanbulites starting from the weekend in its renovated form.

The distance between the cistern and the visitors was shortened and the depth of the structure was increased in the historical structure that was made earthquake resistant as part of the restoration works.
