Breaking News… CHP Leader Özgür Özel Attacked with a Punch at Funeral Ceremony!
CHP (Republican People’s Party) leader Özgür Özel was physically attacked during a funeral ceremony held today at the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) for Sırrı Süreyya Önder, Deputy Chair of the Grand National Assembly, who passed away yesterday.
According to reports, Özel was punched during the event. Footage shows him holding his head after the incident, while his bodyguards quickly intervened to separate him from the attacker.
Habertürk correspondent Ceylan Sever quoted CHP Diyarbakır MP Zengin Tanrıkulu, who commented on the attack, saying:
“A provocateur who said ‘we are children of the Ottomans’.”
The motive and identity of the attacker have not been officially confirmed yet.
