In Uludağ, a tourist was injured when the cables of the chairlift used by skiers and holidaymakers broke. The tourist, transported to the hospital by gendarmerie teams with a snowmobile, was placed under treatment, while the worker who came to repair the chairlift defied death. Consecutive negligence incidents were captured on camera.

The snowfall effective in Uludağ, one of Turkey’s largest winter tourism centers, brought joy to skiers. Uludağ, with a snow thickness of 68 centimeters due to the semester break, was overflowing.

The accident was narrowly avoided

As local and foreign tourists went to the ski slopes for fun, the accident was narrowly avoided due to the neglect of poorly maintained equipment and personnel. When the cables of one of the double-sided rotating chairlifts broke down due to a malfunction, they hit a Russian tourist skiing on the slope. Citizens rushed to help the injured when they noticed the situation and informed the gendarmerie teams.

Upon notification, the gendarmerie quickly arrived at the scene and rushed to help the injured tourist. Following the necessary precautions, the injured person was transported to a healthcare facility by a snowmobile. While it was stated that the condition of the Russian tourist was good, a worker who came to repair the malfunctioning chairlift challenged death as he climbed the pole to repair it. The worker, who neglected occupational safety, was also captured on camera.
