“CHAIN GROCERY STORES WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SELL BREAD AND CIGARETTES”

The President of the Confederation of Tradesmen and Artisans of Turkey (TESK), Bendevi Palandoken, stated that the proposal for a law that will allow bread and cigarettes to be sold only in grocery stores instead of chain grocery stores was in the Parliament.

Bendevi Palandoken, President of the Confederation of Tradesmen and Artisans of Turkey (TESK) made a statement saying they were working on the problems experienced by grocery stores.

“THE LAW IS IN THE PARLIAMENT”

Palandoken stressed that they were making efforts to meet demands of grocery stores and express their problems and went on to say “We have talked to the highest levels of the state and done important work on the resolution of these issues. You know, the law is in the Parliament. Chain grocery stores will not be able to sell bread and cigarettes. Only grocery stores will sell these products. The opening and closing hours are what we’ve been saying for years. But unfortunately, the reason why the problem of not opening shopping malls and chain markets on these Sundays has not been solved is because it is something like banning all the people who do this job from trading.”
