CHP will go to Ataturk Airport to protest construction of Nation’s Garden by government

Canan KAFTANCIOGLU, CHP Istanbul Provincial Chief, who made a share on his social media account said, “We will be there at 11:00 tomorrow, we are expecting nature-friendly institutions and people to be there.”
Heavy equipment/construction machines have officially entered Ataturk Airport, where the AKP wants to make a “Nation’s Garden”. As the reactions continue, a move came from the CHP regarding Ataturk Airport, where a part of the runway was dismantled and a hospital was built, and the rest is to be dismantled, as well – which is referred to as a terrible waste of national wealth.
KAFTANCIOGLU MADE AN APPOINTMENT IN REGARDS
“We will be there at 11:00 tomorrow, we are waiting for nature-friendly institutions and people,” CHP Istanbul Provincial Head said in a share on her personal social media account.
WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
During the snowfall in January, Istanbul Airport was closed and its runways were closed. When Istanbul Airport was closed, the Minister of Interior and the Minister of Transport were sent to Istanbul on the instructions of AKP President Erdoğan, but the ministers had to land at Ataturk Airport instead of Istanbul Airport due to adverse weather conditions. At that time, Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, has said about the closed Ataturk Airport “We will not allow it to be wasted. We will open it after 2023.”
In reply to this statement made by IMM President Ekrem Imamoglu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoglu had said, “The story of Ataturk Airport is over. Already, we are starting work to turn the north and south runway there, into a “Nation’s Garden.”
