The “equivalent household disposable income per capita” essentially represents the income that a household can spend and save. In this income calculation, Turkey ranks very low both in terms of purchasing power and in Euro terms in Europe.

Household disposable income is above the EU average in five Scandinavian countries, but Norway ranks second, while the others do not make it to the top five.

Looking at the four largest countries in terms of population in the EU, household disposable income is above the EU average in Germany (23,197 euros) and France (20,575 euros). Italy (18,472 euros) and Spain (17,254 euros) remains below the EU average.

It is noteworthy that Croatia, the most recent country to join the EU, has a higher income than six EU countries. (media / EN)
