FAKE CANCER DRUG

Journalist Murat AGIREL wrote in his article today that the medicine given to cancer patients by the hand of state institutions turned out to be fake. Cumhuriyet writer and Public TV Programmer AGIREL revealed the fake cancer drug scandal with documents in his article titled “Fake cancer drug, fake reports and fog clouds” today.

The journalist said, “Don’t ask me how it is possible. In fact, a fake cancer drug is given to patients by the hand of government institutions.”

There is a report in question here. The institution that issued the report is “Ministry of Health, Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency Inspectorate”… The title of the report is “Criminal complaint report about fake medicines named Iclusig”…

In the inspector’s report, it was stated that the fake drug in question was sold to SGK (Social Security) and TEB (Turkish Pharmacists Association). “ICLUSIG“ is a drug with the active ingredient ”Ponatinib” which is used in the final stage of leukemia, that is, blood cancer.

To cut a long story short“, some people from SGK (social security) reported (warned) the medicine could have improper ingredients, in other words it could be fake. In the meantime the product in question (fake one) was offered to buyer in Switzerland (without success) and also sold to Argentina… and the story continues.

REPORT SAYS DRUG IS FAKE

Eventually, inspectors were involved and sent the drug (fake) samples taken with the minutes to the Laboratory of Ankara University Faculty of Pharmacy, which is well-established both in terms of equipment and knowledge, on September 5, 2019.

The university announced the result of the analysis six days later. In the analysis, it was found that the drugs did not contain the active substance called Ponatinib at all, it only contained paracetamol.

In other words, it turned out the same as the analysis results of the company named TAKEDA (in Switzerland) and the Swiss Supervisory Authority: the drug was fake. In this case the another report (issued earlier) about the drug was forged.

The investigators immediately askied for clarification about the people who issued the ”Drugs are not fake” report. The statements of three people are being taken on this issue and the statements are exactly the same.  The investigation is continuing and the case in in court.
