Forest Fires Threaten Residential Areas in Three Districts of Antalya

Forest fires have broken out in three districts of Antalya—Aksu, Muratpaşa, and Manavgat—prompting emergency responses both from the air and on the ground. The fires erupted in forested areas near residential neighborhoods, forcing authorities to evacuate homes as a precaution.

In Aksu, flames were reported in Kurşunlu; in Muratpaşa, the fire started near Güzeloba; and in Manavgat, it broke out in Güzelyalı. The cause of the fires is still unknown.

Given the close proximity of the flames to residential areas in Aksu and Muratpaşa, police used loudspeakers to issue evacuation orders. Residents were urged to leave their homes immediately as fire crews moved in.

A large-scale firefighting effort is underway. So far, 8 helicopters, 32 fire trucks, 2 heavy-duty machines, and 186 forestry personnel have been deployed to combat the flames. The police have also dispatched TOMA vehicles (riot control water cannons) to assist in the response.

Efforts to contain and control the fires are ongoing, with teams working relentlessly from both air and ground.
