Istanbul, Europe’s Biggest City ..

ISTANBUL_LEANDERS_TOWERAccording to 2009 population data 75.5 percent of Turkey’s population lives in city and town centers and the remaining 24.5 percent in small towns and villages.

Migration types become multiplied in the following years including from villages to the city centers , from cities to cities, and even from cities to villages. The cities with their centers exceeding 1 million in population in 2009 were Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, Adana, Konya, Kayseri, Gaziantep, Mersin, Kocaeli, Antalya and Diyarbakır.

Istanbul whose population quadrupled in the last 25 years has become Europe’s most populated and the world’s 23rd most populated city with its population of 12,915,000 people.
