Kusadası Municipal police inspects markets to prevent excessive price hikes due to corona

We all know that people are going through a very difficult time to the coronavirus pandemy. The limitation brought for people over 65 to leave home has certainly been another problem – although it seems to be a must for public health. In the meantime some small businesses, actually markets in particular may try to take advantage of the situation and play with prices. Taking this possibility into consideration, Kuşadası Municipality Police Directorate has carried out inspections in the town to ensure markets do not apply excessive price hikes due to coronavirus crisis.

Kuşadası Municipality continues its efforts to prevent the corona virus outbreak in full swing. While cleaning and disinfecting works continue throughout the city, Kuşadası Municipality Police Directorate teams also do “exorbitant price” inspection. Municipal police teams, which oversee grocery stores selling cologne, hand soap and general cleaning products in particular, control prices and labels. They keep records about the markets that cannot declare purchase and sales invoices and send them to the Provincial Directorate of trade for further procedure.

The director in charge says they will not let opportunists exploit the sensitive situation prevailing due to the crisis adding, “We will continue to carry out the necessary inspections. We will not give anyone the opportunity to make unfair gains in such a critical process where public health is concerned”.
