Luxury villas in southern Turkey see great demand from holiday makers after pandemic

VILLA IN KALKAN FOR HOLIDAY MAKERS

It is reported that holiday makers from abroad have shown great interest in villas in southern Turkey particularly for a safe time away from covid-19 threat. Reservations for thousands of villas in the KAS District of Antalya for instance are reported to enjoy 70 percent reservation performance, while this shows an increase of by 40 percent compared to last year. The cost of a weekly holiday in luxury villas ranges from TL 10 thousand to 50 thousand.

Kalkan, the touristic town in the KAS District of Antalya, has been receiving great attention from those who want to holiday in isolation and intertwined with nature in recent years.

The town is a favorite of domestic and foreign holidaymakers with its authentic structure, clean and moisture-free air, sparkling sea, unique beautiful bays, attracting attention as one of the alternative tourism centers of Turkey.

PRICES GO UP TO 50 THOUSAND TL PER WEEK

In addition to dozens of boutique hotels, there are about 5 thousand villas in Kalkan. The population which is normally 3 thousand 614 goes up to 20 thousand in the high tourist season. Those who did not want to spend the holiday season at home were observed to prefer villas in the Kalkan area rather than hotels last year based on warnings from experts regarding as social isolation etc.

Before the corona virus, villas that served more conservative holidaymakers are categorized as having an indoor pool, Jacuzzi, sea view and forest view. Villas are usually rented weekly or monthly. 2-3 families who know each other can choose the same villa. Weekly prices of villas range from TL 5 thousand to 50 thousand.

VILLAS ENJOY 70 PERCENT OCCUPANCY

Real estate agents in the region say people’s understanding of the holiday has changed due to the corona virus and they want to live more isolated.

One agent said they had experienced serious mobility in bookings compared to last year adding “compared to last year, our booking occupancy rates reached 70 percent this year. We’re just worried about the foreign market. We are closely monitoring the mutation and corona virus status of British and Russian tourists coming to the region.”
