Member of Corona-virus Science Board says when Turkey can go back to normal life

Corona virus Science Board Member Prof. Dr. Ateş Kara answered the question everyone was asking. He replied to the question “When do we return to normal life” as follows: “If we stick to the rules strictly, we can return to normal life end of May or beginning of June”.

Professor ATES KARA who joined a broadcast on TV shared important information about the outbreak. KARA  noted that we could see the highest point of the outbreak soon and life could go back to normal end of May or beginning of June.

The professor also said, “Figures in our country for the last few days show us a positive picture. It’s actually too early to answer that, yet. We also need to look at the numbers coming in tomorrow. But end of May or beginning of June may be the time for us to go back to normal if we strictly adhere to rules”.

Upon a question as to whether air-conditioners could be risky the professor said, “If the filter is cleaned regularly, it would not create a serious problem. If it is not cleaned and maintained regularly, air-conditioning can cause problems such as infection. But in practice that’s pretty seldom”.

The professor also shared following:

“The path of entry of the virus into the human body is via the respiratory system. So far, we haven’t seen any food-related virus transmission. Wash your hands, face, and do not touch your face. This is a more sheltered situation. On the fabric, the virus lives a little longer. But if the virus that remains on the fabric makes us sicker, there is no finding yet on this issue.

The person who gets sick earns some immunization. We know the person normally gets some immunity and that is why we started plasma therapy. But we don’t know how long this will last.

We expect the first application of the corona virus vaccine like January or December, maybe. We are getting very good results but to give you an example, the malaria vaccine was found in 32 years.

Also, we observe that the disease is more severe in the overweight group. But smokers are also at a high risk”.
