Meta which owns Facebook prepares rival platform to Twitter

Meta is intensifying its competition with Twitter and making preparations to create a new platform. According to the BBC, Meta is working on a new platform where users can also follow the people they follow on Instagram. Meta’s goal is to rival Twitter, as well as attract users from Twitter-like platforms such as Mastodon.

A spokesperson for the company also confirmed this project at Meta, to the BBC. In a statement, it was stated that work is being done on a social network where decentralized and text-based developments can be shared.

Chris Cox, Facebook’s product manager, said that coding work was being done on the platform. It is reported that the platform codenamed P92 or Barcelona is intended to be released soon.

The screenshots of the application that Meta is said to have developed were reflected on social media, as well.
