Ministry announces record increase in entrance fees for museums and ruins

EPHESUS TURKEY

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has increased the entrance and “Museum Pass Card” fees to be applied in at museums and historical ruins in Turkey. The new prices which are increased by 20 to 35 percent will be effective from May 1, 2021. Museum card fees were unchanged. This way, fees which were increase by 39 percent last year were subject to another increase of 20 percent.

The price of “The Museum Card” fee which gives Turkish citizens unlimited access to museums for a year was not changed and was kept at TL 60.

 According to a report the lowest entry fee in museums and ruins was Sinop historical prison with 18 lira and the highest fee was Ephesus ancient city with 120 lira.

HIGHEST ENTRANCE FEE IN THE ANCIENT CITY OF EPHESUS

According to the statement of the Ministry, the entrance fee for the ruins of Nevsehir Goreme increased from TL 75 to TL 100 while the entrance fee for the ancient city of Ephesus which is TL 100 pounds, rose to TL 120. New prices for some museums and ruins are as follows:

Bodrum Underwater Archaeological Museum 90, Mugla Cedar Island 75,Pamukkale+Pamukkale Archaeological Museum 110, Ihlara Valley 55, Side theater 55, Istanbul Archaeological Museum 60, Turkish and Islamic Artifacts Museum 60, Çanakkale Troy Museum 60, Ankara Anatolian Civilizations Museum 50, Göbeklitepe ruins 55.
